Hypnotherapy works, it just does…

Throughout the last six weeks, I have been blogging about some of the things that I know best about – Stress Release and Change for the Better.

Stress is one thing that I have lots of experience dealing with and I actually use to think stress was a good thing – having stress and drama kept me going and busy during my early 20’s and 30’s. To me, it was cool to be so busy that you did not even have time for yourself – just do and do, go and go and stay busy, no matter way.

Of course, when we are are younger, it is more natural to be this way – work hard and play harder but when you don’t have some balance, you do end up paying for it. We see it all the time, with busy people that eventually burn out and get so sick, it forces them to take a break and then, they have to make some big changes in their Life.

Eight and a half years ago, this is what happened to me, all the stress that had been building over the years, finally made me so sick, I ended up in the emergency room in tremendous pain with lots of fear. It took several of the ten days, I was in the Hospital, for the doctors to even figure out what was wrong and then, more days to decide what they where going to do about my situation.

Since, I was not able to sleep much, the whole time there, I had lots of time to think while taking somewhat of a break from everyday life. This was a much needed break that I had been forced to take and it was not a fun one, as you might imagine. But more than anything, I just knew, I was going to be alright and get through it so, I could make some really big changes in my Life.

As long as I can remember, I had always been into being healthy and staying fit and up to this point, I had never really ever been sick but, at the same time, I was unaware of the effects that stress can have on the body, mind, soul and spirit.

So, through this illness and the surgery that made me better, I was forced to learn the hard way by enduring a lot of pain and suffering in the hospital and through five months of recovery.

While in the hospital, I ended up having to take some really strong drugs that made me even more sick but the one that I was most thankful for, was morphine – that drug is quite amazing and works wonders for pain. Now, I understand how, if taken too long and not regulated, that drug can be so very addictive. It was a rather strange process, after leaving the hospital and coming off of it and it got a bit scary one night, when I thought I had bugs crawling up my sleeves.

So, this whole, life altering, experience started me on my journey to get as much Stress out of my Life as possible. I went through years of trying different alternative methods and many things worked well but nothing and I mean nothing, has worked as quickly, easily and efficiently as Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.

When I started going to school to become a Hypnotherapist, my Life began to change in big leaps and huge bounds. As I first started working on my self and then, others – I got the chance to experience, with all of my senses, (and some new senses that I learned how to use) the effects that this amazing modality has to offer.

Working with my clients, I also discovered how well, quickly and affective Phones Sessions can be – doing Hypnotherapy over the phone, in the comfortable of your own home. I love doing Phone Sessions and the results so far, have been so wonderfully effective and extremely positive.

Your Dreams say alot about You…

They really do and they are extremely important in the Process of making Positive Changes happen in your Life – They really are…

They say most everybody does dream when they sleep – Are you able to remember your dreams ?

Did you know that when you Sleep Better, you are not only able to remember your dreams Better but you are also, able to go through the full stages of dreaming. There are three stages and all of them are important in the process of changing your issues in your life to the Better.

When you sleep, you go through three or four Sleeping cycles and REM (Rapid Eye Movement) is the time during those stages when we are dreaming. During REM you are also, able to experience these three very important Stages of Dreaming.

Now, if you have a hard time remembering your dreams, not to worry – they still are probably happening and still are having a powerful and beneficial effect subconsciously on the changes happening in your Life.

The First Stage of Dreaming , the least important is the Wishful Thinking Stage, where you work on making the things happen in your Life that you are desiring to happen.

The Second Stage, is the Precognitive Stage, where you dream of things you think might happen or that you predict or feel might happen in your Life. It is also, the problem solving stage where you are sorting out things in your Life.

The Third Stage, and most important, is the Venting Stage where you are able to vent out those things that you no longer need in your Life. Since, it is the last stage, it contains the dreams that you remember the most. So, if you wake up in the morning and remember having some nightmares, it really is a good thing since, you were probably working on letting go of the energy and feelings that the nightmare represented.

When you are able to remember you dreams better, you can also, understand the significance of them better by analyzing them using Dream Therapy. Most everything in your dreams either has a Literal meaning or a Symbolic meaning and Dream Therapy can break down the content of your dreams in relation to what is going on in your Life.

So, first of all for Dream Therapy to work, of course, you have to be able to remember some of your dreams and as stated above, Sleeping better will help you remember your Dreams better and one of the best things that helps with both Sleeping and Dreaming better, is Hypnotherapy.

Since, Hypnotherapy instantly allows you to release more stress, you are able to rest better, the less stress you have in your Life, the better you Sleep. Also, during a Hynotherapy session we are able to reinforce the Venting process that happens in the third stage of dreaming. This is done, by giving you reinforcement suggestions that you will be able to fall sleep faster and sleep through the night and be able to Vent out those things that you no longer need in your last Stage of Dreaming.

To analysis a Dream, you ask yourself Questions about your Dream:

1. What stage did the dream occur ?
2. Was it Psychological or Physiological ?
3. What is the Timing – Past, Present or Future ?
4. Go over the Content that you remember by Separating the Literal from the Symbolic:

Here is where you can make a split chat on paper to separate the Literal Content from the Symbolic content. The Literal, on the left side, is the content that is a given or the obvious things in your life. Like if you had a dream about your dog and you have a dog, that would be literal and if you don’t have a dog – the dog, in you dream would be symbolic – meaning that it presents something different in your Life. Then, write the symbolic content on the right side.

After you do the list, you ask yourself questions about the literal meaning and the symbolic meaning and how they relate to each other. If you have a dream about using a gun and you do not have a gun, then, that gun could represent control over someone or something.

Now, using the content, the meanings and your own intuition into the meanings – start to build a story about what your dream is telling you.

Keep going and ask yourself the rest of these questions below:

5. What are your emotions and feelings that you have about your dream ?
6. Start saying your dream back to yourself – where you venting out stuff that you no longer need to deal with ?
7. Now, think about what triggered your dream – what happened in your Life, that was like this Dream ?

Remembering, your Dreams and analysis them is good therapy that can really enhance the positive changes that are happening in your Life. I love to Dream and that is one of the reasons, I enjoy Sleeping so much –

Isn’t is Great when you get a really good night’s sleep where you sleep through the whole night, waking up feeling rested, ready to take on the day ahead ? There are those who have experienced this and know how wonderful it can be and many of those people, would like it to happen more consistently. Then, there many others that don’t even know what it would be like to have this happen in their Life.

Sleeping is one of the Most Important things that we do that affects our whole mind and body. It can change your entire Life when you are able to fall asleep faster and sleep through the night and then, when you are able to remember some of your dreams, that is an added bonus.

Yes, we know being able to sleep better is very important and beneficial for us but the most important things that it affects are – The Immune system, The Nervous system, Brain Cell Repair and Hormone Release:

The Immune System – “Sleep is essential to the immune system. Without adequate sleep, the immune system becomes weak, and the body becomes more vulnerable to infection and disease.”

Nervous System – “Sleep is also a time of rest and repair to neurons. Neurons are the freeways of the nervous system that carry out both voluntary commands, like moving your arm, and involuntary commands, like breathing and digestive processes.”

Brain cellular repair, replenishment and growth – “Recent studies have suggested that sleep downtime of the brain, so active during the day, may replenish dwindling energy stores that cells need to function, repair cellular damage caused by our busy metabolism, and even grow new nerve cells in the brain.”

Hormone Release – “Many hormones, substances produced to trigger or regulate particular body functions, are timed to release during sleep or right before sleep. Growth hormones, for example, are released during sleep, vital to growing children but also for restorative processes like muscle repair.”

Also, something that I learned a while back, is that Rest and Sleeping reduces the Stress Hormone, Cortisol and having lower levels of Cortisol in your body, is very important for fat loss.
I researched this further and according to Natasha Turner, ND at this link – Truestar

“Cortisol controls our appetite, often making us feel hungry even when we have eaten enough. It also raises blood sugar and insulin levels and results in increased fat deposition around the abdomen. To further complicate the situation, high cortisol can negatively affect our sleep patterns, making it difficult to fall or stay asleep when we finally do go to bed. This increase in stress hormone also has detrimental effects on other aspects of our endocrine system, like thyroid gland function which governs our metabolism.”

So, are you getting enough Sleep ?

“Sleep deprivation occurs when you are not sleeping the right amount for your individual needs. Sometimes sleep deprivation is short term, like a college student pulling an all nighter. Chronic sleep deprivation often occurs in professions who work long hours, caregivers with multiple responsibilities, a concurrent sleep disorder or another disease that interferes with sleep. If you are falling asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow, regularly need an alarm clock to wake up, or feel the need for frequent naps during the day, it is very likely you are sleep deprived.”

Other signs you may be suffering from sleep deprivation include:

– difficulty waking up in the morning
– poor performance in school, on the job, or in sports
– increased clumsiness
– difficulty making decisions
– falling asleep during work or class
– feeling especially moody or irritated

“Sleep deprivation can be dangerous not only to you but others, since it affects motor skills like driving. Chronic sleep deprivation is also thought to cause long term changes to the body, which contribute to increased risk or obesity, diabetes and heart disease.”

Also, what you are sleeping on is very important and it is true what they say about getting a new mattress after 8-10 years. I know this from first hand experience, we recently got a new bed and it has made such a difference in the way my body and mind feelings in the morning. We didn’t even realize how bad the old mattress had gotten until we slept on the new mattress the first few nights. It was amazing how much better the new bed felt to sleep on, it felt like heaven compared to our old mattress. Also, my whole bedroom feels better, with the old energy of the old mattress gone, even the sound of the silence is Better.

When you Sleep Better, your whole Life gets Better and also, you start to remember more of your Dreams which helps you understand how your individual dreams are symbolic to the Changes going on in your Life.

Who is the Most Important Person in Your Life?

Did you say, “I am” – meaning You, yourself ? I do hope so, You are The Most Important person in your own Life, You really are, and the more you are there for yourself, the Better you can be there for those other important people in your Life.

One of the biggest concerns that I hear from some of my clients and others is that they are too busy to even make time, to take more time for themselves. Many people are overwhelmed with the activities in their life but we have to remember that, these activities are from our own creation – we had a lot to do with making them happen. We had the power to create them, therefore, we have the power to make them easier to deal with.

So, what do you think? Is it time to take your power back from those activities so, you can have more control over how they happen in our Life?

Maybe, so – you are the one that does know the answers to all of your questions, they are there within you and that is why I want you to become Your own Most Important Person so, you can Release more Stress to find those answers and be able to hear them more consistently.

Avatar The Movie & What We can do Here…

On the Place we call Home – Earth, also, known as Gaia, another name for Earth that comes from Greek mythology, referring to the Earth Goddess.  Gaia, pronounced “Guy – uh” a beautiful name for this wonderful Planet that we get to inhabit.  It is a Planet like no other (that we know of, at this time) and if you have been to one that is more amazing – Please, do let me know about it.

We are so fortunate to be here to have this place to live and it’s really great to be connecting with more and more like-minded people who share the same realization.

As humans, we get to experience the many different opportunities our Planet offers us, and at the same time, have been given the abilities to change our experiences to the better.

Right now, I feel, see, sense and know that we are living in a time of Great Change and true discovery.  It is a time for many who have either been depressed, unhappy, angry, sad, fearful or even lost to realize and know their purpose in Life.  When we allow ourselves to have more peace and calm, it enables a better connect with our true self and that’s when change happens.  As these new changes become part of your everyday life, it can start to make you realize what is missing.

The many great changes taking place have created an awakening and with the recent effect that the Movie, Avatar has had – the longing for inner peace and calm is even more evident.

This amazing movie, creatively produced with such symbolic wisdom, shows that even though it takes place in the future where overgrown cat like natives live in heightened states of spiritual harmony, on Planet Pandora – it really is not much different than our own Planet. (figuratively speaking, that is)

Through the journey of the characters in this movie, the audience has gotten a glimpse of what more peace, calm and serenity looks and feels like and many are craving more.  They great thing is that most all of us already have the ability within ourselves to make this happen and after seeing this movie, I couldn’t stop thinking about how we really can create our own type of Pandora, right here on Earth…

Then, what motivated me more to write about this, was a recent connection with a new like-minded Friend on Facebook who had sent out a very interesting note.  The information in her note talked about the deep symbolism in this movie and we chatted about how we both related to it so well.  Even though she had received this information from another Friend, she was so excited to be sharing it since, it had helped her understand her own thoughts even better and I am so glad she did.

The information in the note, was written by Ada Monola, and she talked about “the many hidden messages… or maybe not so hidden for people who are aware…” then she shared her opinion about what she saw in these hidden messages.

The rest of this information could be a spoiler for those who have not seen this movie, but who has not seen this wonderful film, yet ?

I was able to see most of the same messages but what surprised me, was that I was not aware of something that is now, so obvious.  When she talked about the Heroes in the Movie, it immediately got my attention and what I read next, almost left me breathless.  She said, “The heroes are set in hypnosis mode in order to connect with their avatars… we meditate, we ‘put in sleep’ our vehicle (the body) so we can connect with the avatar within us (our Soul, who is Divine – an avatar -)”

Wow, I thought – what an amazing way to describe the most important symbolic message of this whole movie and in such a beautiful way !!!  Then, I thought – of course hypnosis…that is exactly what they had used and how did I not see it, something I know so well.

That is how great this movie is – the peace and harmony on Pandora contrasted with the cruel reality of life is so captivating that it has overloaded those so deeply effected.  And it seems, many are still trying to figure out what they are feeling about it.

Have you heard about the avatar effect, (click here to read more) also, know as the avatar blues.  It is a type of post depression from the deep feelings felt about this movie and it is causing many to have a hard time with their reality ?

Notice, I said, their reality – since, we have the ability within to change our own reality for the better.  This ability is there and it is just waiting to be released and Hypnotherapy is one of the best ways to make this happen.

Hypnosis is just a deepened state of relaxation that occurs naturally when your mind is being overloaded with message units, much like watching a movie.  The guided imagery and visualization that send the message units offer suggestions to slow your breathing and that enables more stress release, much like watching a movie.

During a session you are still conscious but the messages units that distract the conscious part of the mind cause your thoughts to go deeper.  These deepening thoughts that are relaxing you, are also opening up the subconscious part of your mind more and that is where you decide which suggestions to believe or not believe.  This is much like the effect that Avatar has had but the most very important difference is that during a Hypnotherapy session, only Positive suggestions are used.

So, it seems the positive suggestions taken from this movie created a healthy desire for more, which is great, but many of those, so deeply affected, are not aware of how to experience this again.  Also, their negative thoughts might have them thinking that they had nothing to do with what they had felt since, it occurred watching a fictitious movie of make-believe.

I can’t speak for all of the people going through this but I do know that most all of us have the ability to create more peace, calm and serenity in our lives.  It might not be like the Planet Pandora, in the Movie Avatar, but you can get to that place to release more stress to find your own peace and calm within.  When your mind becomes more quiet, you are able to hear better what your soul has to offer and that is what allows you to know your passions.

Many people I have been connecting with are happily living their Passions with much peace and serenity and some of the others are beginning to discover this even more.  These are the people who know – you gotta do what it takes, to get to where you want to be and this gives me much hope that more people are understanding that, if you really want something – you have to be willing to do the work to get it.

And for those who are not quite ready, yet – that is O.K. too, everybody finds their own way to deal with change.  I love it when people come to me and I get to motivate them further but ultimately, they are the ones who have to really want it.

So, if you are searching for some positive things that might be missing in your life – you want them and also, know there will be some work to do, then, it is a good idea to find other ways to release more stress – and it’s as simple as Breathing…

A New Year, A New Decade with more Time for…

A Better You !!!

Did you make any Resolutions this Year ? Did you know that most people who make New Year’s Resolutions, do not follow through with them and I just read in a recent article that “on average, 85 % of people that make them, do not keep them.”

First of all, I think it is really great if you did make some Resolutions – since, that means, you do know that you would like some type of changes to occur in your life and hopefully, they are Positive ones. It is a start, even if you are not following through with them as planned or having a hard time making them happen, at all.

Now, if your Resolutions are happening smoothly then, Here’s more Motivation to You – along with a reminder to always have some good “Mind tools” for those days when old ways of thinking could come back to trigger old behavior. “Mind tools” (a term that I think, I just made up while writing this) are motivative thinking anchors that reinforce new changes and they are personalized to fit the issues of each Client that I work with. Also, the anchors given help in grounding new positive thoughts (like a boat anchor) to new positive actions, reactions and behaviors.

Change is always happening in our Lives and since, most all changes, that we would like to change, happen in our subconscious, that is why Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy works so well and quickly. Not only, does it get to that subconscious level where old ways of thinking, feeling and reacting changes for the better – it also, reinforces changes through the personalized repetition, suggestions and visualization that is related to those issues being worked on.

Now, the not so easy part is finding those changes and then, making them happen while allowing them to become part of everyday life and this is why I absolutely Love being a Hypnotherapist – I get to be part of this amazing transformation that is being created as my clients quickly change for the better.

Change is good and through our own experiences most all of us have probably had and seen some pretty impactful changes happen during this past decade. I know, I have and most everyone I know, has had some real good changes, along with some bad ones and then, there are others that are just confused with the many people having such difficulties while, at the same time, others are thriving by doing the best they ever have.

These extreme contrasts are causing us to become even more aware of what others are going through and the difference in opinions are surely being expressed. Some of which are: “We are just going through another recession that will past soon” along with, “This is the worst economy since, the great depression” then, there are others that are saying “What recession?”

Does it seems to be all relative then and what about the Law of Attraction that says, “What we focus on happens Most” ? Well, what ever it is that we are going through, we will get through it, as we always have and there is no doubt that yes, there really is something going on out there and things are forever and always changing.

So, through all of these changes, what I am sensing about this new decade is that the theme is already becoming, not about me, I or you but about We – We as a whole. We have to continue to do things together and with Social media and sites like Facebook we have already been doing this for quite some time and we are getting more and more comfortable with sharing, commenting and expressing our feelings.

As more and more like minded people are connecting and we continue to comment, share and express ourselves in a Positive respectful way, not only does our own life continue to change for the better but those that engage with us, change for the better, as well.

Since, jumping right in, to embrace Social Media, as many others did, through Facebook, this whole past year ended up being a Social Media Networking training camp for me and it has been amazing.  How great is it that, we get the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful new way to connect with people all over the world where our lives can literally be changed in an instant.

Just think about the many ways your Life has changed for the better through Social Media and think about those people that helped you to change and also, those you helped to change in the process.

Through this past year, that is what I have focused on most – the importance of embracing the changes that are happening in your Life, and what I have discovered is that, I can not do it all my own. So, that is why I am now taking Social Media to the next level by really understanding how important it is to have a special networking group of friends – like minded people to rely on and get support and motivation from.

First, I found how this worked on a large scale through Facebook and now, I am learning how it can work on a smaller scale with what is being called a “tribe”.   An old term that is being used to describe a new type of online syndication tribe and the leader of this new tribe that I am involved in is Kimberly Castleberry and she explains it all very well at this link, right here with more information here

Doing this Interview was really fun and it is another reason why I Love Social Media so much since, I met Anthony Hosking, the Radio Station Manger of Motivational Radio on Facebook through of one of my Friends that I met through another friend and then, I loose track who that friend was…Facebook, bringing the Whole World closer together one Friend request connection, at a time. ( just came up with that saying about Facebook while writing this)

What made the interview so, fun was that – it is was not planned, it was off the cuff, an Impromptu type Interview and Anthony is really good at what he does over there – he is multi-talented and I found out we have more than a few things in common.

We talked about Social Media and how it is bringing more and more People together from all over the world and how it is Changing things for the Better.
